HP: Keep your secrets close
By Marc Perton
Is it just me, or is there something surreal about HP’s current ad campaign, which includes the image above? In the current environment, trusting HP to protect your secrets seems about as smart a move as trusting Republicans to protect teenage kids. Then again, the campaign could just serve as a reminder that, regardless of what goes on in the boardroom, HP still produces competitive products. Unfortunately for HP, I suspect the campaign will backfire, conjuring up images of boardroom intrigue and pretexting, rather than thoughts of cutting-edge privacy and security features.
